Alma Mater was formed by longtime friends Vinny & Jerry. The two started writing the band's first collection of songs in basements, dorm rooms & eventually a small recording studio. With guidance from studio engineer, and friend Jon Higgins the band began recording their first official EP and later brought Higgins on as a band member for guitar/vocals. Their songs range in dynamics and structure, but maintain a cohesive sound due to the final touches Joe Loftus (Motionless In White, Title Fight, and Tigers Jaw) gave while mastering their EP, "Cloud Cover".
